Peter Dickson has practiced as a partner in Potter and Dickson in Princeton, New Jersey since 1995, and previously practiced for sixteen years in Washington D.C. with the firm of Van Ness Feldman P.C. and predecessor firms.
Peter’s experience includes a substantial amount of complex trial and appellate litigation, in Federal and state courts as well as in contested cases before state and Federal administrative agencies. He has also been active in representing clients before the Congress, including significant work in Congressional investigations.

Peter is an experienced corporate and commercial counselor. This has included a wide array of work for domestic corporations and small businesses, including formation of corporations, limited liability entities and partnerships.
He has represented on a court-appointed basis several domestic violence defendants, and his pro bono work also includes representing Gulf War veterans in employment and discrimination cases and counseling non-profits on the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Peter graduated from Princeton University in 1973, and served for two years as Assistant to New Jersey Governor Brendan T. Byrne. He received his J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University in 1978 Magna Cum Laude and with High Honors, and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He clerked for Judge John W. Kern III of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in 1976 and for Chief Justices Richard J. Hughes and Robert N. Wilentz of the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1978-1979. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the District of Columbia and numerous Federal courts. While in practice in Washington, he was a Delegate to the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia. He was a Lecturer in the Princeton University Department of Politics for many years and currently serves as a member of the University’s Alumni Schools Committee.
